Certain types of clothes will shrink from washing alone, while other types of clothes will shrink even more when dried.
Most of the shrinking will take place during the first wash.
How much a particular article of clothing will shrink depends on the type of the fabric, the weaving method, the
sewing method, and the type of finish used.
- Do not attempt to dry already dry or unwashed clothes using the Dry course.
(Drying already dry clothes is a fire hazard.)
(Only dry clothes and items that have been washed using the washer. The Dry course may not be able to
completely dry clothes and items that have been washed but not spun.)
(Only dry clothes and items that have been washed using the washer. Do not dry clothes and items that have
not been spun.)
- Articles contaminated with cooking oil, acetone, alcohol, gasoline, kerosene, stain remover, turpentine oil, or wax
need to be washed sufficiently using detergent and hot water before being dried inside the washer.
(These contaminated clothes and items pose a fire hazard. Familiarize yourself with all washing- and drying-
related precautions.)
- Do not tumble dry foam rubber (latex) products, shower caps, products made out of a waterproof or water-
resistant material, items with a rubber lining, or clothes or pillows with foam rubber padding.
- Use fabric softeners and similar products according their respective manufacturer's instructions.
