2.15 OPERATION
Installation of Water Tank, Dragline Winch & Cable Mast
General
Care should be taken when lifting the assemblies to ensure that any lifting slings or chains are
in good condition and free from any cuts or abrasion damage. When standing on the mixer to
tighten the tank, winch and mast retaining bolts and screws it is recommended that the
access steps and platform are used, ensure these are clean and free from loose materials
before climbing or standing on them. Bear in mind the requirements of any local or national
Working at Heights or Lifting Equipment legislation.
Water Tank Assembly
Using suitable lifting equipment lift the tank
assembly (11) and lower on to the water tank
supports above the drum top guard. Align the
four holes in the tank base with the slots in
each tank support and insert the four set
screws provided (10) finger tighten the
retaining nuts. Slide the tank towards the
hopper until the setscrews reach the end of
the slots, fully tighten the screws.
Attach the discharge pipe (8) using the two
setscrews provided (9) sandwiching the
rubber joint between the tank outlet and
discharge pipe. When tightening the two
setscrews ensure the discharge pipe does not
foul on the drum mouth and will also miss the
hopper when it is raised.
Pass the control rod (4) through the support
bracket (7) and attach to the tank using the
split pin and washer (5 & 6)
Attach a water supply (1) to the water inlet
strainer (3) using a suitable hose clip, turn on
the water and check for correct operation and
leaks.
