Usable Scan Length
The decode zone is a function of various symbol characteristics including density, print
contrast, wide-to-narrow ratio, and edge acuity. Width of decode zone at any given distance
must be considered when designing a system.
Calculating The Usable Scan Length Method on page 2-10 provides a detailed description
of how to calculate the usable scan length. The scan angle is provided in Table 4-2 on page
4-4.
