Parental Control
Parental Control is a new feature in Quick Heal Total Security that lets parents control the Internet activity for their children. It
provides features that can restrict categories of websites or user-specified websites. It also allows parents to schedule Internet
access for their children.
Parental Control can be accessed by clicking Internet & Network -> Parental Control from the
Dashboard
. The following
features are available under Parental Control:
Restrict access to particular categories of website
This option allows you to configure access and disable categories of websites (like pornographic, crime and violence, drugs and
alcohol, adult, etc.) that can be visited during an Internet session. This is perfect for parents, who want to ensure that their kids
visit the right kind of websites and are not exposed to materials unsuitable for kids. To restrict access to particular categories of
website, please perform the following steps:
1. Select Restrict access to particular categories of website.
2. The Categories button is activated. Click Categories.
3. The categories of websites whose access can be allowed or denied are displayed. Click the button corresponding to the
category to either Allow the category or Deny the category of website. The default settings are perfect for novice users
and they can retain the default settings for their kids.
4. You can also exclude a website from being blocked, despite being in the blocked category, by adding it to the exclusion
list. For example, if you have blocked the
Social Networking & Chat
category, but you still want to provide access to
Facebook, you can do so by using the Exclude option. Click Exclude. Enter the URL of the website whose access does
not need to be blocked and click Add. Click OK to save the changes. Similarly if a website in the exclusion list is to be
removed, just highlight the desired URL and click Remove button. Click Remove All to delete all the URLs in the list.
5. Click OK -> Save Changes to save the newly modified settings.

5. Click OK -> Save Changes to save the settings else click Cancel to exit without saving.
