Operation Manual
Step 4. AIM AT
SAFE TARGET
Aim at a safe target. To be a consistent
marksman, use the correct sight picture
each time you fire the gun. (See Fig. 7)
CAUTION: Due to the power of this
gun, use extra caution in selecting a safe
target backstop. These models should not
be used with BB gun target backstops.
Pick targets that cannot be penetrated
or that will not cause a ricochet because
of their hard surfaces. Use only targets
and traps that are designed for use with
high-powered pellet guns. Do not shoot at
water. See pages 14 and 15 on selecting a
safe target.
Step 5. TAKE ÒOF FÓ
SAFETY
When you are certain that the target,
backstop and surrounding area are safe,
move the safety fully to the rear-down position Ð RED DOT SHOWING (See Fig. 2b).
Your gun is ready to shoot. Pulling the trigger now will fire a pellet from the gun. In this
condition, it should be handled with extreme care.
Step 6. FIRE
The rifle can be fired after completing the above operation steps. After making sure the
gun is pointed in a safe direction, gently but firmly, squeeze the trigger.
WARNING: If a pellet does not fire after completing the operation steps, the gun
may be jammed. An unfired projectile in the barrel can be a dangerous situation. Keep
gun pointed in a safe direction and repeat all operation steps except Step 2. If a projec-
tile still does not fire, do the following:
1. Put ÒON Ó safety - NO RED DOT SHOWING by cocking the gun. Leave the barrel
open with the safety ÒON Ó.
2. Clear barrel by running a cleaning rod through from muzzle end.
3. Repeat operation steps.
If after following the firing procedure the pellet does not fire, your gun should be returned
to the factory. (See ÒRe pair of Winchester Air RiflesÓ)
UNLOAD PELLET
It is preferable to fire the pellet at a safe target to unload the gun. If this is not practi-
cal, put ÒON Ó safety by cocking the gun to open the barrel and push the pellet from the
chamber by running a cleaning rod through the muzzle end. Close the barrel, take ÒOF FÓ
safety and fire the gun in a safe direction.

1. Loosen the scope ring screws on the objective lens end of the scope (front) so the ring is loose on
the scope.
CAUTION: DO NOT LOOK AT THE SUN WITH THIS SCOPE OR YOUR UNPROTECTED EYE
AS PERMANENT EYE DAMAGE CAN RESULT.
2. Place the scope rings on the dove tail mount of your gun with the eyepiece toward the back of the
gun. The elevation adjustment knob should be on top and the windage adjustment knob on the right
side of the scope.
3. Secure the back ring against the scope stop in order to keep the scope from sliding back during
shooting. (if relevant)
4. Tighten the mounts to the dovetail by tightening the base screws.
5. Now retighten the scope ring screws on the front scope ring. Your scope will now be secure and
straight with the dove tail on the gun.
