slightest rearward motion of the slide handle,
hammer is immediately secured until action
is again closed. (3) When the gun is fired, re-
coil disengages the action slide lock and slide
bar, permitting the action to be manipulated
for reloading. If the hammer should fall on
an empty chamber, however, or in case of a
misfire, a slight forward push on the slide
handle is necessary to disengage bar and slide.
This provides vital protection in case of a
"hang fire."
