Part I FrontPage Essentials
Here is a quick explanation of each button (from left to right) in the Page view
Standard toolbar:
The New drop-down list/button is set to Page by default: At that setting, it
creates a new Web page.
The Open drop-down list/button defaults to File: Accesses the Open Files
dialog box to open existing Web pages
Save: Saves the open Web page
Search: Opens the Search pane to search your Web site
Publish Web: Publishes your Web site from your local computer to an
intranet or Internet location
Toggle Pane: Use this drop-down list/button to choose either Folder List (to
display a list of folders and files associated with your Web site) or Navigation
pane (to display a flowchart of your pages based on navigational links).
Print: Sends your Web pages to your printer
Preview in Browser: Displays your Web page in your default Web browser
Spelling: Checks your Web page for spelling errors
Cut: Cuts selected text or objects and saves them in the Clipboard
Copy: Copies selected text or objects and saves them in the Clipboard
Paste: Pastes contents of the Clipboard at the insertion point
Format Painter: Copies a selected format to apply with the (paintbrush)

Undo: Undoes your last command or keystroke
Redo: Cancels your latest Undo action
Web Component: Opens the Insert Web Component dialog box, where about
half the features of FrontPage are crammed somewhat uncomfortably into a
single dialog box
Insert Table: Opens the Insert Table grid
Insert Layer: FrontPage provides support where you can work with different
layers on a single page, which is useful when writing code for a page.
Insert Picture from File: Opens the Picture dialog box
Drawing: Activates the Drawing toolbar, which enables you to draw WordArt
and Microsoft Office drawing objects
Insert Hyperlink: Opens the Create Hyperlink dialog box to define or edit a
link to another Web page or a location on a Web page
Refresh: Reformats the page based on the last saved version
Stop: Stops refreshing a page
