The Power button
The Power button is on top of the phone. In addition to powering up the
phone, it puts the device into sleep mode if you press it for a moment while
the phone is on.
Sleep mode shuts off the screen, suspends any running applications, and
turns off the radios in the phone. The advantage of Sleep mode (over com-
pletely turning off the phone) is that hitting any of the hardware buttons
wakes up the phone — it’s ready to operate in just a few seconds. If you turn
off the phone, it takes longer to start back up.
