Server 2010 architecture to improve the scalability, security, and stability. This includes

system and hardware dramatically improves the scalability and performance of Exchange
Server 2010. The x64 architecture means that Exchange Server 2010 can now access more than
3 GB of physical memory. Microsoft has tested server configurations with up to 64 GB of
physical memory. The additional physical memory means that data can be cached and written
to disk more efficiently. This greatly improves the Exchange Server 2010 disk I/O profile over
previous versions.
