switch to turn on the computer. You should hear some
noise from the fan or see lights on the keyboard or screen
soon after you turn it on.

3. The very first time you turn on a computer running
Windows 7, you may have to create a user account with
the following information:
User name and computer name: Your user name
appears throughout the system, from the log-in
screen to the Start menu to the folder containing
all your documents. Use a simple, clear name.
Your first name is just fine. Your computer needs a
name, as well. Windows 7 suggests your user name
plus -PC, but you can change that, if you wish.
