In those instances when you know the table name and not the customizing view
name, the transaction code SM31 (Extended Table Maintenance) can be used to
access the table maintenance screen. Simply enter the table name into the SM31
screens Table/View eld, and click the Customizing button. e rst time you use
this button, you will be asked for a project number, however this is not a required
eld and you can hit enter to continue. Once you do that you will be presented with
the screen that is displayed in Figure 1.7.

en you can click the name of the appropriate view, and SAP will take you to the
proper conguration screen. Note how many conguration steps can update T001 –
company codes.
Finding the Table to Configure
Oen it may be necessary to nd a customizing setting when youre processing a
business transaction in the system. e easiest way to accomplish this task is to select
on the business transaction the eld that contains the setting you want to customize.
