Part I: The Basics
SharePoint - Specific Task Panes
In addition to the general - purpose task panes, SharePoint Designer has some task panes that are used
only when working on a SharePoint site. The following table briefly describes these panes:
Task Pane Description
Find Data Source Searches among the data sources defined in the
current SharePoint site .
Web Parts A gallery of the Web Parts available on the site .
Contributor * For controlling access to SharePoint Designer
functionality .
*This task pane is shared with the Clip Art and Clipboard panes, and behaves in the same
fashion.
Web Site (Structural) Views
When you don ’ t have a file open in the Page Editor, the design surface shows a variety of structural
views of your web site. These are also available by clicking the Web Site tab in the design surface when
you have files open.
Files and Folders
Like the Folder List task pane, the Folders web site view shows the files and folders currently in the web
site. If the Folder List task pane is shown, the Folders view shows the contents of the currently selected
folder in the task pane, as shown in Figure 1 - 26 .
