NOTE
If you’re using Windows XP, the XLStart folder may be located in either of these
directories:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\
Microsoft\Excel\XLStart
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\XLStart
If you’re using Windows Vista, the directory is:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLStart
After you save the file, you can close it. Now, every time you start Excel, the blank work-
book that’s displayed will be based on the template you created. In addition, when you
press Ctrl+N, the new workbook will be created from your template.
If you ever need to bypass your new default workbook and start with one of the normal
Excel default workbooks, choose Office ➪ New and choose the Blank Workbook item.
