Duringthefirst minute afterSCOLA CLASSMATEhas
been turned on the synchronisation channel can be
programmed into the memory This is done with a

After one minute the SCOLA CLASSMATE starts to
sendoutthechannelsynchronisationsignalThissig-
nalwillberepeatedtimespersecondandwillsetall
SCOLA FLEX or Amigo ear-level FM receivers within
rangetotheprogrammedchannel
Therangeofthesignalisapproximatelym
SCOLACLASSMATEispoweredbytheexternalpower
supplyHoweveraninternalrechargeableback-upbat-
terywillsupplyuninterruptedpowertotheunitfor
hoursifthemainspoweriscutoff(forexampleifthe
walloutletisneededforanotherpurpose)
Theback-upbatteryiscontinuouslychargedwhenthe
power supply is connected to the mains When con-
nectedthefirsttimeitwilltakeabouthoursbefore
thebatteryisfullycharged

Widex service personnel.

ASCOLAFLEXthathasgoneinto“sleep”modeafter
aperiodofnotreceivinganytransmissionsignalfrom
anFMtransmitterwillfirst“wakeup”andthenbesyn-
chronisedtothechannelusedintheclassroom
In the standard SCOLA FLEX setting a beep will be
heardeverytimethereceiverreceivesasynchronisa-
tion signal The alternative is a setting where a beep
is only generated when the SCOLA FLEX channel is

WithWidexIntegratedSignalProcessing(ISP)hearing
aidssettoworkwithSCOLAFLEXthehearingaid’sdi-
rect audio program is automatically switched on and
offcontrolledbytheSCOLAFLEX
DuringbreaksbetweenlessonstheISPhearingaidwill
work in for example its standard acoustic program
withouttheuserhavingtooperatetheFMswitchorre-
movetheSCOLAFLEXfromthehearingaidWhenthe
userreturnstothelessontheSCOLACLASSMATEwill
settheSCOLAFLEXtothechannelusedinthatclass-
roomandswitchonthedirectaudioprogramallowing
theFMsignaltobecomeaudibleFullyautomatically
