Set Up and Care Guide

Troubleshooting
Leaking
Here’s how to fix water leakage.
1. Check connections. Your drain plug may be loose, leaking water on the floor.
2. Empty the reservoir. If the water tank is too full, water will leak onto the floor. Check and empty your tank often.
Reducing Noise
Portable air conditioners may make unfamiliar sounds. Refer to these tips to minimize noise.
1. Ensure the surface is level. Portable units may vibrate if they are on uneven ground.
2. Place your unit on a rug or pad. Hard floor surfaces amplify vibration sounds.
No Cold Air
If you are using the air conditioner in the recommended room size and it is still not cooling as expected, try these tips:
1. Remove obstacles. Make sure there is nothing within 20 in. of the exhaust hose that could block the air outlet. This
includes curtains, drapes, furniture, etc.
2. Clean the air filter. Check if it is dirty and refer to the Maintenance section for cleaning tips.
3. Reconnect the exhaust air duct. Check to see if it is blocked or disconnected and if so, unblock or re-connect the air duct.
4. Allow space for cooling. Some manufacturers recommend leaving 12–40 in. between the back of the unit and the wall for
ecient air conditioning. Refer to your user manual for recommendations on your model.
5. Protect against overheating. Some units have a protection feature that automatically shuts it o at a certain
temperature. If this is the case, you can switch the air conditioner back on again after the unit has cooled down.
Air Conditioner Doesn’t Turn On
Follow these steps if your unit is not turning on.
1. Restart the unit. Turn it o, wait three minutes for the compressor to restart, then power on the unit.
2. Drain the reservoir. Some units will automatically switch o when the reservoir is full. Be sure to regularly drain the water.
3. Clean the air filter. Check to see if it’s dirty and refer to the Maintenance section of this document for cleaning tips.
4. Set to fan-only mode. It is possible that the coils in your unit may have ice on them. Turning on the fan will defrost the coils.
After 40 minutes on fan-only mode, switch back to A/C to see if the issue has been resolved.
5. Press the reset button. Some units have built-in ground-fault circuit interrupter protection. If your air conditioner has a
reset and test button, try pressing the reset button to restart the unit.
Remote Doesn’t Work
Check the battery and follow these steps:
1. Ensure you’re within range. Use the remote within 20 ft. and a 180° radius from the front of the unit.
2. Remove signal obstructions. If the signal is disrupted, check and remove any obstructions.
