INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Unpack the Refrigerator Location Requirements WARNING WARNING Excessive Weight Hazard Use two or more people to move and install refrigerator. Failure to do so can result in back or other injury. Explosion Hazard Removing the Packaging ■ Remove tape and glue from your refrigerator before using. To remove any remaining tape or glue, rub the area briskly with your thumb.
Electrical Requirements Connect the Water Supply (on some models) WARNING Read all directions before you begin. IMPORTANT: ■ If you turn the refrigerator on before the water line is connected, turn the ice maker OFF. Electrical Shock Hazard ■ A qualified service technician must install the water line and ice maker. ■ All installations must meet local plumbing code requirements. ■ Use copper tubing and check for leaks.
. Fasten shutoff valve to cold water pipe with pipe clamp. Be sure outlet end is solidly in the ¹⁄₄" drilled hole in the water pipe and that washer is under the pipe clamp. Tighten packing nut. Tighten the pipe clamp screws slowly and evenly so washer makes a watertight seal. Do not overtighten or you may crush the copper tubing, especially if soft (coiled) copper tubing is used. Now you are ready to connect the copper tubing. 7. Slip compression sleeve and compression nut on copper tubing as shown.
Refrigerator Doors TOOLS NEEDED: ⁵⁄₁₆" hex-head socket wrench, #2 Phillips screwdriver, flat-blade screwdriver, ⁵⁄₁₆" open-end wrench, flat 2" putty knife. IMPORTANT: ■ All graphics referenced in the following instructions are included later in this section after “Final Steps.” The graphics shown are for a right-hand swing refrigerator (hinges factory installed on the right). ■ ■ ■ If you only want to remove and replace the doors, see “Remove Doors and Hinges” and “Replace Doors and Hinges.
6. Remove the door stop. Move it to the opposite side of the refrigerator door as shown in Graphic 5. 7. Position the refrigerator handle on opposite side of the refrigerator door as shown in Graphic 6-3. Drive the two top screws in the handle first. Align the lower portion of the handle and drive the bottom screw. 8. Align refrigerator bottom trim. For Style 1, replace the door handle screw cover. See Graphic 6-1. For Style 2, slide trim into place. See Graphic 6-2. 9. Tighten all screws.

Align Doors Adjust the Doors Door Closing Your refrigerator has two front adjustable rollers – one on the right and one on the left. If your refrigerator seems unsteady or you want the doors to close easier, adjust the refrigerator's tilt using the instructions below. If the space between your doors looks uneven, you can adjust it using the instructions below: 1. Pry off the top hinge cover. 2. Loosen the top hinge screws using a ⁵⁄₁₆" socket or wrench. 3.
REFRIGERATOR USE Mid-setting “4” Ensuring Proper Air Circulation In order to ensure proper temperatures, you need to permit airflow between the refrigerator and freezer sections. As shown in the illustration, cool air enters through the bottom of the freezer section and moves up. Most of the air then flows through the freezer section vents and recirculates under the freezer floor. The rest of the air enters the refrigerator section through the top vent.
To manually turn the ice maker off, lift the wire shutoff arm to the OFF (arm up) position and listen for the click to make sure the ice maker will not continue to operate. ■ MAX Refrigerator Shelves Your model may have glass or wire shelves. Store similar foods together and adjust the shelves to fit different heights. This reduces the time the refrigerator door is open and saves energy. NORMAL Slide-out Shelves (on some models) To Remove and Replace a Shelf in a Metal Frame: 1.
To Replace the Crisper(s) Cover: NOTE: Before reinstalling the cover, make sure the U-shaped reinforcement bar is reinstalled in the front edge of the crisper cover. 1. Fit back of cover frame into supports on side walls of the refrigerator and lower the front of the cover frame into place. 2. Slide rear of glass insert into cover frame and lower front into place. Chilled Meat Drawer (on some models) The chilled meat drawer temperature control is located on the left-hand side of the meat drawer cover.
Freezer Shelf (on some models) To Remove and Replace the Shelf: 1. Remove the shelf by lifting the entire shelf slightly and moving it all the way to the left-hand side. Tilt the right-hand side up and out of the shelf supports. 2. Replace the shelf by inserting the left-hand end all the way into the shelf supports. Then, lower the right-hand end of the shelf and insert it into the shelf supports. NOTE: The shelf should lower slightly and lock into place.
Adjustable Utility Compartment & Tray REFRIGERATOR CARE (on some models) The utility compartment and tray slide from one side to the other for more flexible storage. The tray fits on either side of the utility compartment or partially underneath it. Try moving it to different positions to find the option that works best for you. Cleaning WARNING To Install and Adjust the Utility Compartment and Tray: 1. Insert the front of the utility tray into the slot on the back of the shelf rail.
5. Clean the condenser coils regularly. Coils may need to be cleaned as often as every other month. This may help save energy. ■ Remove the base grille. See “Base Grille” graphic or “Base Grille” section. ■ Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush to clean the grille, the open areas behind the grille and the front surface area of the condenser. ■ Replace the base grille when finished. 6. Plug in refrigerator or reconnect power. Changing the Light Bulbs NOTE: Not all bulbs will fit your refrigerator.
TROUBLESHOOTING Try the solutions suggested here first in order to avoid the cost of an unnecessary service call. Your refrigerator will not operate ■ Is the power supply cord unplugged? Plug into a grounded 3 prong outlet. ■ Has a household fuse blown, or has a circuit breaker tripped? Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker. If the problem continues, call an electrician. ■ Is the Temperature Control turned to the OFF position? See “Using the Control(s),” depending on the model.
■ Is the room humid? It is normal for moisture to build up inside the refrigerator when the room air is humid. ■ Is the food packaged correctly? Check that all food is securely wrapped. Wipe off damp food containers before placing in the refrigerator. ■ Are the controls set correctly for the surrounding conditions? See “Using the Control(s),” depending on the model. ■ Was a self-defrost cycle completed? It is normal for droplets to form on the back wall after the refrigerator selfdefrosts.

6. Ajuste la válvula de cierre a la tubería de agua fría con una abrazadera de tubería. Asegúrese de que el extremo de la salida esté firmemente insertado en el agujero de ¹⁄₄ de pulgada de la tubería de agua y que la arandela esté por debajo de la abrazadera de la tubería. Ajuste la tuerca de presión. Ajuste las tuercas de la abrazadera despacio y de manera simétrica para que la arandela cierre herméticamente.

Si el frigorífico no parece muy estable o si las puertas no cierran del todo bien, puede regular la inclinación del frigorífico siguiendo estos pasos. ADVERTENCIA Si la distancia entre las puertas no parece simétrica, podrá corregirla siguiendo estos pasos: 1. Retire la cubierta de la bisagra superior. 2.
UTILIZACIÓN DEL FRIGORÍFICO Posición intermedia “4” Cómo asegurar una adecuada circulación de aire A fin de lograr y mantener las temperaturas adecuadas, debe permitir que el aire fluya entre el congelador y el frigorífico. Como se muestra en la ilustración, el aire frío entra por la parte inferior del congelador y sube. A continuación, la mayor parte de este aire frío pasa a través del orificio de ventilación del congelador y vuelve a circular debajo del piso del congelador.

Cortes de corriente Si no va a haber electricidad durante 24 horas o menos, mantenga la o las puertas del frigorífico cerradas (dependiendo del modelo) para ayudar a guardar los alimentos fríos y congelados. Si no va a haber electricidad por más de 24 horas, haga una de las siguientes: ■ Saque todos los alimentos congelados y guárdelos en un arcón para congelados. ■ Coloque 2 libras (907 gr.) de hielo seco en el congelador por cada pie cúbico (28 litros) de espacio.
IDENTIFICACIÓN Y REPARACIÓN DE AVERÍAS Ponga en práctica las sugerencias que figuran a continuación antes de incurrir en gastos innecesarios de llamada al servicio técnico. Compruebe que todos los alimentos estén bien envueltos. Limpie los recipientes de alimentos húmedos antes de colocarlos en el frigorífico. ■ ¿Está el control programado correctamente de acuerdo con las condiciones ambientales?
