SET UP & USE OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE FIRST USE It is normal for a small amount of smoke to be produced when using this product for the first time. It will quickly disappear. When using the steam function for the first time, do not direct steam towards the laundry as there could be debris emitted from the steam vents. FILLING WITH WATER Make sure both the steam control knob and temperature control dial are in the MIN position.
SET UP & USE STEAM IRONING Place the iron in a vertical position and set the temperature control dial at the minimum/low heat setting. Insert the plug into the socket and the power indicator light will illuminate. Then turn the temperature control dial to the “MAX” mark. The pilot light will come on, indicating that the iron is heating up. When the pilot light turns off, the set temperature has been reached and the iron is ready to use.
SET UP & USE BURST OR VERTICAL STEAM IRONING Press the burst of steam button to generate a powerful burst of steam that penetrates the fabric and helps to smooth creases. Wait a few seconds before pressing again. By pressing the burst of steam button at intervals you can also iron vertically, which is ideal for curtains or hung garments. DRY IRONING For ironing without steam, follow the “STEAM IRONING” instructions, however, the steam control knob should remain in the NO STEAM position.
SET UP & USE ANTI-CALC SYSTEM A special filter inside the water tank softens the water and prevents scale build-up in the soleplate. The filter is permanent and does not need replacing. NOTE: Use tap water only. Distilled and demineralized water makes the anti-calc system ineffective by altering its physical and chemical characteristics. ANTI-DRIP SYSTEM This iron is equipped with a drip stop function.
CLEANING AND CARE HELPFUL TIPS • Always read garment labels and follow the manufacturer’s ironing instructions. • Sort the articles to be ironed according to the type of fabric. • You should first iron garments requiring low temperature to avoid damaging them with an iron that is too hot. • If you are unsure of the fabric content of the garment, test a small area, such as a seam or facing, before ironing a visible area.
CLEANING AND CARE BEFORE YOU CALL FOR SERVICE IF THE STEAM IRON FAILS TO OPERATE: A) Check to make sure that the steam iron is plugged in securely. If it is not, remove the plug from the outlet, wait 10 seconds and plug it in again securely. B) Check for a blown circuit fuse or a tripped main circuit breaker. If these seem to be operating properly, test the outlet with another appliance. C) Vigorously move the iron to re-set the auto shut-off.
