Considerations For Field
Wiring
Hevi-Duty Company - Multi Volt
Transformer Connections
The fan CPT is factory connected as follows:
Voltage Rating
Easy-Start ES Used For
Voltage Rating Transformer Connections
208/230/460 460V
380/415 380V
460/500/575 575V
If the incoming line voltage is different than the
factory connected rated voltage shown in
previous paragraph, reconnect the multi-voltage
transformer primary and secondary as follows for
Hevi-Duty Company:
Primary
Line FU-2 Secondary Secondary
Voltage Connection Connection Voltage
208 VAC H2 X4 110 VAC
230 VAC H2 X3 115 VAC
380 VAC H3 X4 120 VAC
415 VAC H3 X3 120 VAC
460 VAC H4 X3 115 VAC
500 VAC H5 X4 110 VAC
575 VAC H5 X3 115 VAC
The primary to FU-1 is factory connected to H1.
One secondary lead is factory connected to X1.
The X1 and H1 connections remain the same for
all line voltages.
Wiring Practices
Care should be taken to see that all
interconnecting wiring and ground wiring is sized
and installed in conformance with the National
Electric Code (NEC) published by the National
Fire Protection Association or the Canadian
Electrical Code (CEC) as applicable and other
appropriate local codes. Refer to controller and
motor nameplates for electrical data.
Phase Rotation
The Easy-Start ES has built-in phase rotation
protection. If the 3-phase incoming lines that are
connected to the Easy-Start ES line terminals
(marked A, B, C) are not A-B-C rotation, the fault
light Òphase rotÓ will light up on the logic board,
and front door if mounted in a standard
enclosure. This feature also inhibits starting of
the motor. In order to correct the rotation,
reverse any two lines going into the Easy-Start
ES line terminals. Once the phase rotation is
determined, and if the motor is running in the
wrong direction, reverse any two motor leads on
the load side of the Easy-Start ES.
