IfyouhavepreviouslyinstalledNVIDIAnTune,NVIDIArecommendsthatyou
uninstallnTunebeforeinstallingthisdriver.Afterthedriverinstalliscomplete,you
canreinstallnTune.
Copied Files and Registration
Theinstallationprocesscopiesallnecessaryfilesforoperationintotheappropriate
directories.
ThenViewsystemfilesarecopiedtoyourWindows\Systemdirectory.
nViewDesktopManagerProfilefiles(*.tvp)aresavedintheWindows\Nview
directory.
DependingontheversionoftheNVIDIAdriverpreviouslyinstalled,profilesmay
alsobelocatedintheDocuments and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\nView_Profilesdirectory.
Aspartoftheinstallprocess,anuninstallisregisteredinyoursystem.
Preserving Settings Before Upgrading Your Software
Beforeuninstallingorinstallingsoftware,yourcanpreserveyournViewDesktop
Managerand/orNVIDIADisplaysettingsbyusingthenViewDesktopManagerProfiles
features.
Note:Followthestepsbelowand/orrefertotheNVIDIA nView Desktop Manager User’s Guide
fordetails.UnderWindowsXP/2000andWindowsNT4.0,youmusthave,atleast,Power
Useraccessprivilegesinordertocreateorsaveaprofile.(RefertoWindowsHelpifyou
needanexplanationofPowerUseraccessrights.)

details.
1 OpenthenViewDesktopManagerProfilespage(Figure4.1).
2 Topreserveyourcurrentsettings,youcanuseeithertheSaveortheNewoptionfrom
thenViewDesktopManagerProfilespage:
• Ifyouwanttooverwritethecurrentlyloadedprofilewithyourchangedsettings,
usetheSaveoption.Noticethatawarningmessageindicatesthatyouareaboutto
overwritetheselectedprofile.
• Ifyouwanttoretainthecurrentlyloadedprofileandwanttosaveyourchanged
settingstoanewfile,clicktheNewoption.Enteranameanddescriptionofthe
profileintheNewProfiledialogbox.Forexample,youcannamethisprofileMy
Settings.
3 Ifyouarean“advanced”userandwanttocustomizecertainsettingsinthesaved
profile,clickAdvanced<<toexpandthedialogbox(Figure4.2).
4 Tocustomizethesettings,youcanselectorclearanyofthesettingscheckboxes.
