Using HDMI/DisplayPort Audio with Displays that have a
High Native Resolution
TouseHDMI/DisplayPortaudiowithsomedisplaysthathaveanativeresolution
higherthan1920x1080,youmustsetthedisplaytoalowerHDresolution.
SomeHDMITVʹshaveanativeresolutionthatexceedsthemaximumsupportedHD
mode.Forexample,TVswithanativeresolutionof1920x1200exceedthe
maximum
supportedHDmodeof1920x1080.
Applyingthisnativemoderesultsindisplayoverscanwhichcannotberesizedusing
theNVIDIAControlPanelsincethemodeisnotanHDmode.
Toavoidthissituationandprovideabetteruserexperience,thedrivertreatscertain
TVs–suchastheViewsonicVX2835wmand
theWestinghouseLVM‐37w3–asaDVI
monitorwhenapplyingthenativemode.BecausethedriverdoesnottreattheTVas
anHDMIinthiscase,theHDMIaudioisnotused.
