Basic Configuration
5.3.3.1. LogConfigurationOptions
The System Parameters menu allows you to enable/disable the Temperature Log and
select three different configuration parameters for the Audit Log and Alarm Log. Note
that the Audit Log, Alarm Log and Temperature Log function independently; parameters
selected for one log will not be applied to the other.
The Audit Log and Alarm Log both offer the following parameters:
• Off: The Log is disabled, and command activity and/or alarm events will not be
logged.
• On-WithSyslog: The Log is enabled, and port connection, port disconnection,
login/logout activity and/or alarm events will be logged. The VMR/NPS will generate
a Syslog Message every time a Log record is created.
• On-WithoutSyslog: The Log is enabled, and port connection, port
disconnection, login/logout activity and/or alarm events will be logged, but the
VMR/NPS will not generate a Syslog Message every time a Log record is created.
(Default Setting.)
Notes:
• In order for the Audit Log or Alarm Log to generate Syslog Messages, Syslog
Parameters must first be defined as described in Section 10.
• The Audit Log will truncate usernames that are longer than 22 characters,
and display two dots (..) in place of the remaining characters.
5.3.3.2. TheCurrentMeteringLogandPowerMeteringLog(VMROnly)
The "Current Metering Log" parameter allows you to enable/disable the Current
Metering Log and Power Metering Log. When enabled, the VMR will log current, power
and voltage readings. The Power Metering Log includes options that can be used to
determine the format and content of the data that is displayed. These options include
the following:
• DisplayDataOption: (Text Interface Only) Selects either Unit Mode or Plugs
Mode. In Unit Mode, the VMR will display total current data for each branch circuit.
In Plugs Mode, the VMR will display current data for each individual outlet. Note
that the Display Data Option is only available via the Text Interface.
• DateRange: Selects a date range for the Power Metering function. The Date
Range option is available in the Power Range screen (Web Interface), The Power
Metering screen (Text Interface) and the Power History screen (Text Interface.)
• Resolution: Allows you to display power or current history for the previous day,
week, month or year or select a live display of power and current data as it occurs.
The Resolution option is available in the Power History screen (Text Interface and
Web Browser Interface) and Current History screen (Web Browser Interface only.)
Note: Current and Power Metering functions are not available on NPS units.
