3.2 LED Operation
An ASCII Multiplexer has two LEDs that provide visual status information to the user about the
product and the DeviceNet network. See Table 3-1 and Table 3-2.
Table 3-1 Module Status LED (labeled MS)
LED State Module Status Meaning
OFF No Power There is no power through DeviceNet.
Green Device Operational ASCII is operating normally.
Flashing Green Device in Standby If in autobaud, ASCII is waiting for a sync
signal.
(If fixed baud mode, ASCII needs
commissioning. Future.)
Flashing Red Minor Fault Recoverable fault.
Red Unrecoverable Fault ASCII may need replaced.
Flashing Red/Green Device Self-Testing ASCII is in self-test mode.
Table 3-2 Network Status LED (labeled NS)
LED State Module Status Meaning
OFF No Power / Not on-line JDM has no power or has not completed
the Dup_MAC_ID test.
Flashing Green On-line, not connected JDM is on-line but is not allocated to a
Master.
Green On-line JDM is operating normally.
Flashing Red Connection time-out One or more JDM connections are timed
out.
Red Critical link failure JDM has detected an error that makes it
incapable of communicating on the link.
(Bus off or Duplicate MAC ID).
