4.2.4 TimeSetting
Time Setting source allow user to setthetime manually or throughNTPserver.
Network Time Protocol (NTP) is used to synchronize computer clocks on the
internet.Youcanconfigure NTPsettingsheretosynchronize theclocksofseveral
switchesonthenetwork.BelowfigureissimilarasPMISwitch.
Manual Setting: User can select Manual setting to change time as user wants.
User also can click the button “Get Time from PC” to get PC’s time setting for
switch.
NTPclient:SelecttheTimeSettingSourcetoNTPclientcanletdeviceenablethe
NTP client service. NTP client will be automatically enabled if you change Time
sourcetoNTPClient.Thesystemwillsendrequestpackettoacquirecurrenttime
fromtheNTPserveryouassigned.
IEEE1588:WiththePrecisionTimeProtocolIEEE1588thereisnow,forthefirst
time, a standard available which makes it possible to synchronize the clocks of
differentenddevicesoveranetworkatspeedsfasterthanone
Micro‐second.
