LUBRICATING

INSPECTION
1.
Visually
check
the
disassembled parts
and
replace
faulty
parts.
Check the sliding surface of
pump
cover.
with
special care
and
replace the cover
if
the
surface
has
steps
or
excessive
streaks.
(Minor
steps
streaks
may
be
repaired
by
rubbing
them
with
a compound
on
a surface plate.)

Measure
the
above
clearance
with
a dial gauge
and
magnet
base.

the
pump
drive

clearance between the lobes of the rotors with a feeler
gauge.

the
clearance exceeds
the
limit, replace

Check
the
clearance between
the
outer rotor and pump body
with
a
feeler gauge.
If
the clearance exceeds the limit,
replace
the
rotor or pump
body.

cover.
Check
the
end
float
of the rotors. Place a straight edge across
the
pump
body
and measure
the
clearance between the rotor
and
straight edge with a feeler gauge.

the
clearance

the
limit, replace the drive
gear,
drive shaft, inner
rotor,
outer rotor and pump
body.

7. Assembly. Assemble in the reverse order of
disassembly.
NOTE:
When
installing
the
rotors into
the
body,
be
sure
that
the
tally marks
on
the rotors
are
positioned toward the
cover.
