2. Check for continuity between
the field coil and slip ring. If
there is no continuity, the field
coil is defective. Replace the
rotor assembly.
3. Check for continuity between the
slip ring and shaft (or core). If
there is continuity, it means that
the coil or slip ring is grounded.
Replace the rotor assembly.
Stator Assembly
1. Check for continuity between the leads of the stator coil. If there is no continuity, the stator coil is
defective. Replace the stator assembly.

Check for an open circuit between the stator coil leads and the stator core.
