GUN CONTROL
PUSH TO ACTIVATE
The X-V SIZE control is used in X-V SCAN
MODE
only . Th e co ntrol a ll ows size adjustment of
a
ll patterns when in X-V o per ation . Th e two mark s
at the ope rating extr emes of th e contro l represent
positions in which th e X and V output signals are
calibrated values . The m ar k at minimum a djust -
ment se ts t he X and V output signals at X=± 4V
and V=± 3V. The mark at maxi mum a dju st men t
sets
the X and V output signals at X =± 1 OV and
V=±7.5V .
Th e BRIGHTNESS co nt rol is used to adjust th e
level
of the gun output si gnals in order to adjust
brightn ess of the pa ttern on the m on itor screen .
The co ntr ol has no e ff ect on m Gray Scale
since
thi s is a calib rated sig nal used to adjust th e
brightn ess of X·V monito rs. M inimum a djustment
re presents "0" volts output on the gun cont rols.
Maximum a dju s tm e nt is a ppr oxim ately +4 vol ts on
the gun co ntr ols.
Mutually int erlo cked pushbutton switc hes used to
sel ec t the s pe cific patt ern des ir ed. Th e upp er row
of patt erns are for use with X-V mon itors and sig -
nals cre
ating thes e p attern s ar e o utput ed when the
SCAN MODE pushbutto n is "d e pr esse d" in X-V .
The lower row of pa tt erns are tor use wi th ra ste r
scan
monitors and signals creating th ese p at te rns
are
outputed when the SCAN MODE pushbutton
is in th e "out" po sition, RASTER .
Single

approp ri ate for either raster scan or X-V moni t ors .

turn on or turn off the R,G,B sig nals in eit her X-Y
or rast
er scan op e ration . Wh en the bu tto n is
pushed in, th e associated si gnal is prese nt at the
output connector on the rear of the instrum en t.
