Cleaning the Vision Screener
Clean the Vision Screener

If liquids are spilled on the vision screener:
1. Power down the vision screener.
2. Disconnect the power plug.
3. Dry off excess liquid from the vision screener.
If liquids possibly entered the vision screener, remove the vision screener from use until it
has been properly dried, inspected, and tested by qualified service personnel.
Clean on a routine basis according to your facility's protocols and standards or local
regulations. If the vision screener is on, lock the display and disconnect the DC power
cord.
The following agents are compatible with the vision screener:
• 70 percent isopropyl alcohol
• 10 percent chlorine bleach solution
Disinfect according to your facility's protocols and standards or local regulations.
70 percent isopropyl alcohol
Wipe the vision screener with a clean cloth slightly dampened with 70 percent isopropyl
alcohol.
10 percent chlorine bleach solution
1. Wipe the vision screener with a clean cloth slightly dampened with a 10 percent
bleach and water solution. Follow the cleaning agent manufacturer's guidelines.
2. Rinse with a clean cloth slightly dampened with water that meets EP and USP quality
standards.
3. Allow the vision screener surface to dry for a minimum of 10 minutes before using
the monitor.
WARNING Electric shock hazard. Before cleaning the monitor, disconnect the DC power
cord from the power outlet and the vision screener.
WARNING Liquids can damage electronics inside the vision screener. Prevent liquids from
spilling on the vision screener.
