2. Recording an ABP test
2.1 About recording ABP tests
An ambulatory blood pressure test consists of two parts:
Starting a test and preparing the ABP recorder for use.
Reading back the recorded measurements to the computer.
For both parts, the ABP recorder needs to be connected to the computer. Please refer to
the ABPM 6100 hardware manual for instructions on how to handle and maintain the ABPM
6100 recorder.
2.2 Record an ABP test
Follow these global steps. Each step is explained in more detail on the following pages.
To record an ABP test:
1. Connect the blood pressure recorder to your computer.
2. Select a patient, or create a new one.
3. In the File menu, point to New, and click Ambulatory blood pressure. The ABP
module starts to communicate with the ABP recorder.
4. If two devices are connected select which device should be used for the recording
in the window that pops up.
5. If the Name new device dialog box is displayed, enter the name of the blood
pressure recorder.
