INTERFACING TO A BCP-4 OUTDOOR RESET CONTROL
• The BCP-4 is a commercial outdoor reset control for heat which can directly control
up to four output stages.
• The BCP-6/12 can be used to expand the number of output stages of this control
from 4 to 6 or 12. Check the I/O manual for the BCP-4 to be sure it is set up correctly
to interface to the BCP-6/12.
• When being used in the interface mode, the BCP-6/12 does not require a sensor. It
receives its staging information from the BCP-4 (see pg. 17).
• Dip switches 6 and 7 must be ON and dip switch 8 must be OFF for the BCP-6/12 to
recognize the staging information.
• Terminal 12 of the BCP-4 must be wired to BCP-6/12 input terminal 4.
• Terminal 13 of the BCP-4 must be wired to BCP-6/12 input terminal 5.
• Terminal 14 of the BCP-4 must be wired to BCP-6/12 input terminal 1.
• Terminal 15 of the BCP-4 must be wired to BCP-6/12 input terminal 2.
• Terminal 15 and 16 of the BCP-4 must be jumped together.
• Terminal 17 of the BCP-4 must be wired to BCP-6/12 input terminal 11.
WIRING THE OUTPUT STAGES
• Check all the relays are firmly seated in their sockets.
• Any output stage which is not used or does not have a relay must have its OFF/
AUTO/ON switch in the OFF position.
• Each output stage has one Normally Open (N.O.) relay contact.
• The N.O. contacts are dry contacts only. They do not source any voltage.
• Each N.O. contact is capable of switching 6A resistive at 120VAC.
• Total output of all stages must not exceed 15A.
ON/OFF Units
(Refer to Chart Below)
• Each unit has one relay and one OUTPUT associated with it.
• Wire the N.O. relay contacts in series with the unit’s limit circuit.
