Mounting Instructions

Slide the grip sleeve and rear housing

with crimp sleeve onto the cable.

Strip the cable jacket 17,5 +1 mm. The

metal braiding and aluminium foil should

be stripped and removed back to 6 mm.

We recommend our stripping tool (Weid-

müller: CST VARIO, Part No. 9005700000).

Fold back the metal braiding and leave

the aluminium foil in position. Observe

the aluminium foil, that it will not be

buckled.

Insert the crimp ﬂ ange into the assembly

tool (Weidmüller: SAI-MDC12D,

Part No. 1381830000).

Insert the crimp ﬂ ange between the

metal braiding and the aluminium foil

using the assembly tool. Leave approx.

1-2 mm gap between the inner face of

the crimp ﬂ ange and the cable jacket.

Cut o the excess braiding. Position

one of the slots on the crimp ﬂ ange with

one of the wires or between the wires.

Push the crimp ﬂ ange ﬂ ush up against

the cable jacket.

Strip the end of the wires 4 + 0,5 mm.

Crimp the 2 contacts using the

appropriate crimping tool.

Using turned contacts: Ensure that

the wire ends can be seen in the

inspection window of the contact.

Snap-in the contact holder and ensure

that the colour coding on the wires match

the coding on the contact holder.

Align the contacts and snap them into the

contact holder. Ensure that the contacts

are properly positioned and parallel to

each other.

Insert the contacts/holder subunit in the

front connector subunit. Ensure that the

coding slot (arrow) on the contact holder

is aligned to the matching coding bar in

the white insulator of the front connector

subunit.

Screw on the rear housing to the front

connector housing.

Attention! Ensure that both connector

parts are fully locked together.

The recommended torque is 1,5 to 2 Nm

(max 3 Nm) using a spanner AF 12.

Position the crimp sleeve in the crimp

insert. Crimp the crimp sleeve onto the

cable using the appropriate tool.

Slide the protection grip sleeve over the

connector. Fasten torque with mating

connector 0,8 Nm (max. 2 Nm).

Recommended is the use of a torque

wrench (Weidmüller: Screwty_SW13DM,

Part No. 1389190000). Alternative is the

use of a spanner AF12 possible.
