Subnets
A subnet is a part of a network. A large network is
divided into lots of small virtual networks in order to
minimise, and thus accelerate, data trafc in a network.
The sections of the entire network are called subnets.
Subnets are parts of a network with their own subnet
address.
If devices are to communicate with each other across subnet
borders you have to set the router to allow such communication.
Collision domain
A collision domain is a segment of a network.
In all Ethernet networks, the terminals are connected to one single, physical
Ethernet segment.
