Usage
The Pro-M relay module is a build-in
installation unit featuring IP20 protection
and is made as an pluggable accessory
for the operation at 24 V DC PRO-M
power supplies. Therefore it´s been
supplied exclusively from 24 V DC PRO-M
power supplies. The integrated alarm
relay monitors the output voltage of the
PRO-M power supply and provides an
optical status indication (red/green LED)
and a potential-free contact for remote
supervision.
Installation
The electrical facility should be setup by
qualified specialists in compliance with
the applicable electrical regulations. All
regulations and standards which apply
locally should be followed. In particular,
this includes the following measures:
• Protection against electrical shock
• Arrangements for a switching or
disconnecting mechanism to isolate the
power-supply circuit
• Sufficient space for fusing and
connection lines
• Allocation of sufficient ventilation
(50-mm clearance for air intake from
above and below)
• Installation on a mounting rail (in
compliance with DIN 50022-35) in
housing that is appropriate for the
environmental conditions. Be sure to
install in a vertical position.
The units will be mounted directly at the
front of a PRO-M power supply. The
plastic domes must be pushed through
the perforation of the front label and will
be noticeably click-on when completely
moved in (refer to figure 1).
The perforations are located in the upper
third of the front label. They should be
installed in appropriate enclosure (such
as an electrical cabinet or distribution
box) which provides a sufficient level
of protection so that live current-carry
components cannot be touched and so that
dust and water cannot penetrate the unit.
Connection
The electrical connection should be carried
out by a qualified technician.
The following points must be observed:
• The entire electrical facility should be
disconnected from the power supply
before the installation begins.
• You must ensure that the facility remains
voltage-free (i.e., power supply cannot be
reconnected)
• Use a screwdriver with the proper blade
width)
• All connection lines should be seated and
fastened securely. Pay particular attention
to the protective earth connection.
Power supply
The device is designed for operation at
24 V DC PRO-M power supplies
NOTE
Be sure that the correct poles are
connected.
Wrong polarity can destroy the
device!
Alarm relays
The integrated alarm relay monitors the
DC output voltage of the PRO-M power
supply. The relay and green LED will be
switched on at 21.6 V DC voltage and the
alarm contact is closed. The alarm relay is
switched off at voltages below 20.4 V DC
so that „power failure“ is recognized.
The alarm contact is opened and the LED
switch-over from green to red.

Anwendung
Das PRO-M Relaismodul ist ein
Einbaugerät in der Schutzart IP20 und ist
konzipiert als steckbares Zubehörteil für
24 V DC PRO-M Stromversorgungen. Die
Spannungsversorgung erfolgt demnach
ausschließlich durch die 24 V SELV
Spannung der PRO-M Stromversorgung.
Das integrierte Alarmrelais überwacht
die Ausgangsspannung der PRO-M
Stromversorgung und bietet sowohl eine
optische Statusmeldung über rotes/grünes
LED als auch einen potentialfreien Kontakt
zur Fernüberwachung.
Installation
Die elektrische Anlage ist nach den
allgemeinen Regeln der Elektrotechnik
von qualifiziertem Fachpersonal zu
errichten. Die landesspezifischen
Vorschriften sind dabei einzuhalten. Dies
umfasst insbesondere die fachgerechte
Ausführung:
• zum Schutz gegen elektrischen Schlag
• der Vorkehrung einer Schalt- oder
Trenneinrichtung zum Freischalten des
stromversorgenden Kreises
• der ausreichenden Dimensionierung der
Sicherungen und Anschlussleitungen
• der Bereitstellung einer ausreichenden
Konvektion (50 mm freie Luftzufuhr von
oben und unten)
• des Einbaus auf Tragschiene nach DIN
50022-35 in ein Gehäuse entsprechend
der Umgebungsbedingungen. Auf
senkrechte Einbaulage ist zu achten
Die Montage erfolgt durch direkte
Montage auf der Frontseite der
Stromversorgung. Die Plastikdome stoßen
durch die vorgesehenen Perforierungen
des Frontlabel und verrasten spürbar
sobald das Modul vollständig eingesteckt
ist (s.a. Abb. 1). Die Perforierungen
befinden sich im oberen Drittel der
Frontblende. Ein ausreichender Schutz
gegen das Berühren von spannungs-
führenden Teilen sowie Schutz
gegen das Eindringen von Staub und
Wasser sind durch den Einbau in ein
geeignetes Gehäuse sicherzustellen (z.B.
Schaltschrank oder Verteilerkasten).
Anschluss
Der elektrische Anschluss darf nur durch
qualifiziertes Fachpersonal erfolgen, wobei
folgende Punkte sicherzustellen sind:
• Vor der Installation ist die elektrische
Anlage allseitig spannungslos zu schalten
• Es ist Spannungsfreiheit festzustellen
• Verwendung eines Schraubendrehers mit
geeigneter Klingenbreite
• Fester Sitz aller Anschlussleitungen
(Klemmstellen, s.a. Abb. 3), insbesondere
des Schutzleiteranschlusses
Versorgungsspannung
Das Gerät ist für den Anschluss an 24 V DC
Spannungen der PRO-M Netzteilfamilie
vorgesehen.
HINWEIS
Es ist unbedingt auf polrichtigen An-
schluss zu achten.
Bei Falschpolung kann das Gerät
zerstört werden!
Alarmrelais
Das Alarmrelais überwacht die 24 V DC
Ausgangsspannung der PRO-M
Stromversorgung. Bei Spannungen größer
21,6 V DC wird das Relais und die grüne
LED angeschaltet, der Alarmkontakt
ist somit geschlossen. Spannungen
unterhalb von 20,4 V DC werden als
Störung erkannt, das Relais fällt ab und
der Alarmkontakt ist geöffnet. Die grüne
LED erlischt und die rote LED signalisiert
„Störung“.
