BEFORE YOU BEGIN Thank you for selecting the versatile WELDER®PRO 240 weight bench. The weight bench offers an impressive array of weight stations designed to develop every major muscle group of the body. Whether your goal is to tone your body, build dramatic muscle size and strength,or improve your cardiovascularsystem, the weight bench will help you to achieve the specific resultsyou want. For your benefit, read this manual carefully before using the weight bench.
PART IDENTIFICATION CHART This chart is providedto help you identify the small parts used in assembly.The number in parenthesis below each part refers to the key number of the part, from the PART LIST on page 14 of this manual. Important: Some parts may have been pre-assembled for shipping purposes. If you cannot find a part in the parts bags, check to see if it has been pre-assembled. If a part is missing, call toll-free 1-800-999-3756.
ASSEMBLY • As you assemble the weight bench, make sure all parts are oriented as shown in the drawings. Make Things Easier for Yourself Everything in this manual is designed to ensure that the weight bench can be assembled successfu ly by anyone. However, it is important to realize that the versatile weight bench has many parts and that the assembly process will take time. Most people find that by setting aside plenty of time, assembly will go smoothly.
2. Press a 25mm Round Inner Cap (33) into the tube on the Right Upright (7). Press a Foot (29) onto the bottom of the Right Upright. Lift the Weight Rest (9) in the Right Upright (7) and secure it in a raised position with a Weight Rest Knob (23). Repeat this step with the Left Upright (not shown). 3, Attach the Right Upright (7) to the right Crossbar Extension (5) with four M10 x 93mm Bolts (38), two Joint Plates (18), and four M10 Nylon Locknuts (48). Do not tighten the Locknuts yet.
Attach the Bench Frame (1) to the center holes in the Crossbar (4) with two M10 x 82mm Bolts (43) and two M10 Nylon Locknuts (48). 5. 4 Center Holes Tighten the M10 Nylon Locknuts (48) used in steps 1-5. 48 43 6. Press three 45mm Square Inner Caps (26) into the Leg Lever (3). Press a 25mm Round Inner Cap (33) into the Weight Tube (16). 3 Attach the Weight Tube (16) to the Leg Lever (3) with an M8 x 58mm Bolt (42), two M8 Washers (47), a 10mm Spacer (30), and an M8 Nylon Locknut (51).
Attach the Backrest (13) to the Backrest Tubes (12) with four M6 x 38mm Bolts (40) and four M6 Washers (50). 13 Attach the tether on the Adjustment Pin (25) to the Bench Frame (1) with an M4 x 16mm Screw (45). Insert the Pin through the Bench Frame and the Backrest Bracket (10). 5O 1 10. Attach the Seat (14) to the Bench Frame (1), with the wide end toward the front, with four M6 x 16mm Screws (37). 40 10 14 Wide End 37 11. Press two 25mm Square Inner Caps (28) into e Pad Tube (19).
ADJUSTMENTS The weight bench is designed to be used with your own weight set (not included).The steps below explain how the weight bench can be adjusted. See EXERCISE GUIDELINES on page 12 for important exercise information and refer to the accompanying exercise guide to see the correct form for each exercise. Make sure all parts are properly tightenedeach time the weight bench is used. Replace any wom parts immediately. The weight bench can be cleaned with a damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive detergent.
ADJUSTING THE BENCH WIDTH To adjust the width of the bench to use either a midwidth barbell or an Olympic barbell, remove the indicated M10 Nylon Locknuts (48) and M1O x 80mm Bolts (not shown) from the Crossbar Extensions (5). Refer to assembly step 1 for instructionson how to reassemble the Crossbar (4) at the desired width. 48 ATTACHING THE CURL POST For some exercises, the Curl Post (11) must be attached to the weight bench. Remove the 45mm Square Inner Cap (26) from the Front Leg (2).
EXERCISE GUIDELINES THE FOUR BASIC TYPES OF WORKOUTS PERSONALIZING Muscle Building To increase the size and strength of your muscles, push them close to their maximum capacity.Your muscles will continuallyadapt and grow as you progressively increase the intensity of your exemise. You can adjust the intensity level of an individualexercise in two ways: • by changing the amount of resistance used • by changing the number of repetitions or sets performed.
Rest for a short period of time after each set, The ideal resting periods are: • Rest for three minutes after each set for a muscle building workout. • Rest for one minute after each set for a toning workout. • Rest for 30 seconds after each set for a weight loss workout. Plan to spend the first couple of weeks familiarizing yourself with the equipment and learning the proper form for each exercise. COOLING DOWN slowly as you stretch and do not bounce.
