User manual

2-3 x
• Accurate, fast and safe stripping of all common round cables of
4 - 28 mm Ø
• Non-contact optical detection of alternating voltages
• For use on insulated cables and wires in low-voltage areas
• Self-test by optical indication of readiness when the tester is activated.
• Bright and clear LED indication
Stripping
1. Open clip and insert cable.
Press cable against swivel-blade and close clip.
2. Make 1 or 2 full turns.
3. Then cut longitudinally and and peel away sheath.
4. Adjust cutting depth by turning screw at the bottom of the handle.
The stripping range goes from 4-28 mm Ø.
Signs and symbols
Attention! - Warning of a hazard area. Observe the directions for use.
Caution! - Dangerous voltage, danger of electrical shock.
Mark of conformity, confirms compliance with applicable directives.
EMV directive (2004/108/EG) with standard EN 61326 is complied with.
Standard EN 61010-1 is complied with.
Mechanical safety was tested in accordance with DIN ISO 8764-1.
Safety measures
Attention! - The directions for use contain information essential for safe operation and use of
the device. Failure to observe them or the warnings and indications may lead to serious or lethal
injury resp. damage to the device.
Attention! - Intended use: The device shall only be used under those conditions and for
those purposes for which it was designed. In particular, safety information, technical data with
environmental conditions and use in a dry environment must be observed.
Caution! - Only use the voltage tester on insulated cables, conduits and plugs as well as on
sockets not exposed to electrical contact.
Caution! - When working with voltages above 120V (60V) or 50V (25V) AC, the applicable safety
regulations dealing with excessive contact voltages must be adhered to e.g. EN 50110 in the EC,
in order to avoid electrical shock. The values in brackets apply to areas subject to restrictions (e.g.
medicine, farming).
Attention! - Do not use the voltage tester to ascertain whether electrical systems are
disconnected.
Testing
Activate the voltage tester by pressing the ON/OFF push-button (approx. 3 secnds)
The LED flashes slowly thus indicating it is functioning and ready for use
If the voltage tester is in the vicinity of alternating voltage in the range of 50V to 600V, the LED
flashes quickly thus indicating dangerous voltage
The voltage tester switches itself off automatically after approx. 10 minutes.
By keeping the ON/OFF push-button pressed down the voltage tester is deactivated.
Changing batteries - If no function and readiness is indicated after activation of the voltage tester,
the batteries must be changed.
Open the tool handle with a srewdriver and take out the battery case
Remove the used batteries and insert new batteries type LR44 1.5V observing the polarity.
Insert the battery case and close tool handle
Attention! Do not throw used batteries into the household refuse but dispose of them at special
hazardous waste sites. The provisions which are in force regarding return, recycling and disposal of
used batteries and accumulators must be observed.
Cleaning - If the device has become dirty from day-to-day use, clean it using a moist cloth and a mild
household cleaning agent. Never use acid cleaners or solvents.
