drop in line voltage resulting in loss of
power and overheating. If in doubt, use
the next heavier gauge. The smaller the
gauge number, the heavier the cord.
(NOTE: The correct size t o be used de-
pending on the cord length is shown in
this manual. See
SELECT AN EXTEN-
SION CORD
in the ASSEMBLY sect ion).
S Do not use multipl e cords.
S Keep the ext en sion cord clear of opera-

S Ti e cord to cord retainer and connect to
recessed plug as shown in this manual
to prevent damage to unit and/or exten-
sion cord and to reduce the possibility of
the extension cord disconnecting from
the unit during operat i on.
S Do not attempt to r epair unit. Inspect the
insulat i on and connectors on the unit
and extension cord before each use. If
there is any damage, do not use until
damage is repai red by your aut ho rized
service dealer.

switch while connecting the unit to the
power source or when carrying a unit
connected to the power sour ce.
S Avoid any body contact wit h any
grounded conductor, such as metal
fences, or pipes, to avoid the possibility
of electri c shock.
S Ground Fault Circuit Inter r upt er (GFCI)
protect i on should be provided on t he cir-
cuit or outl et to be used for this unit. Re-

DOUBLE INSULATION
CONSTRUCTION
This unit is double insulated to help
protect against electric shock . Double
insulation construction consists of two
separate “layers” of electrical insula-
tion instead of grounding.
Tools and appliances built with a
double insulation sy stem are not in-
tended to be grounded. No grounding
means is provided on this unit, nor
should a means of grounding be add-
ed to this unit. As a result, the exten-
sion cord used with your unit can be
plugged into any standard 120 v olt
electrical outlet. Safety precautions
must be observed when operating any
electrical tool. The double insulation
system only provides added protection
against injury resulting from an internal
electrical insulation failure.
WARNING:
SERVI CI NG OF DOUBLE INSULATED
BLOWER
All electrical repairs to this unit, including
housing, switch, motor, etc., must be diag-
nosed and repaired by qualified service
personnel. Replacement part s for a
double insulated appliance must be iden-
tical to the parts they repl a ce. A double i n-
sulated appliance is marked with the
words “double insulation” or “double insu-
lated” . The symbol
(square wit hi n a
square) may also be mar ked on the ap-
pliance. Failure to have the unit repair ed
by authori zed service personnel can
cause the double insulation constructi on
to become ineffecti ve and result in seri ous
injury.
UNIT/MAINTEN ANCE SAFETY
S Do not set the unit on any surface ex-
cept a clean, hard area while the unit is
running. Debris such as gravel, sand,

the air intake and thro wn out th rough the
discharge opening, damaging the unit,
property, or causing serious injury to by-
standers or operat or.
S Do not overr each or use from unstable
surfaces such as ladders, t rees, steep
slope s, rooftops, etc. Use extra care
when cleaning on stair ways. Keep fir m
footing and bal ance at all tim es. Keep
hands out of tubes.
S Inspect the ent ire unit before each use
for worn, loose, missing, or damaged
parts. Do not use unti l the unit is in
proper working order.
S This unit is double insulated. See the
DOUBLE INSUL ATION CONSTRUC TI ON
section. Have all internal service per-
formed by qualifi ed servi ce repair per-
sonnel to avoid creating a hazard or
voiding your warranty.
S Have all mai n tenance other than t he
recom m en ded procedur es described in
the instruct ion manual per form ed by
your aut hori zed service dealer.
S Always see your aut h orized service
dealer to replace a damaged impeller.
Parts that ar e chi p ped, cracked, broken,
