WARNING:
When using electr i c gardeni ng appli ances, basic saf ety pr ecauti ons should al ways be
followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and serious injury. The warnings and
safety instructions in this manual must be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric
shock, or injury , and to provide reasonable safety and efficiency in using this unit. The
operator is responsible for foll owi ng the warnings and instr ucti ons in this manual and on
the unit. Read the entire instructi on manual bef ore assembling and using t he unit ! Re-
str ict the use of this unit to persons who read, understand, and f ol l ow the warnings and
instructions in this manual and on the unit. Never allow children to use this unit. Do not
allow the unit to be used as a t oy. Close att enti on is necessary when used near childr en.
Always disconnect unit fr om power source before servici ng, cleani ng, perf or mi ng main-
tenance, or stor i ng. Nonconformi ng replacement components or the removal of safety
devices may cause damage to the unit and possible injury to the operator or bystanders.
Use only accessories and replacement parts as recommended. Use only for jobs ex-
plained in this manual.

blown or ricocheti ng into eyes and face
which can result in blindness or serious
injury.
S Always wear a respir at or or face mask
when working with the unit in dusty envi-
ronments.
S Dress saf ely in long pants . Do not go
barefoot or wear short pants or sandals.
S Do not operat e t he unit when you are
tired, ill, upset, or if you are under the in-
fl uence of alcohol, drugs, or medicat i on.
S Secure hair so it is above shoulder
length. Keep loose hair, loose clothi ng,
fi ngers, and all other parts of the body
away from openings and moving parts.
Hair, jewelr y, loose clothi ng, or clot hi ng
wit h loosely hanging str aps, t ies, tas-
sels, etc., can be caught in movi ng
parts.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
WARNING:
Avoi d a dangerous environment. To re-
duce the ri sk of ele ct rical shock, do not
use in r ain, in damp or wet locations, or
arou nd swimming pools, hot tu bs, etc. D o
not expose to snow , r ai n, or water to avoid
the possibility of electrical shock. Do not
use on wet sur f aces. Do not handle exten-
sion cord plug or unit with wet hands.
Avoi d dangerous situati ons. Do not use in
the presence of fl ammable liquids or
gases to avoid creat i ng a f i r e or explosi on
and/or causing damage to unit . Do not
abuse cord. Never carry the unit by t he ex-
tension cord or yank extension cord to dis-
connect unit. To unplug, grasp the plug,
not the cord. Do not use cord as a handle,
close a door on cord, or pull cor d around
sharp edges or corner s. Turn of f all con-
tr ol s bef or e unpl ugging. Do not expose
cords t o heat, oil, or water. Do not use wi t h
damaged cord or plug. If unit is not work-
ing as it should, has been dropped, dam-
aged, left outdoors, or dropped into water,
return it to your authorized service dealer
for repair. Unplug the unit from the power
source when not in use, before servi cing,
cleaning, perfor mi ng maintenance, or
stor ing. Do not put any object into open-
ings. Do not use wit h any opening
blo cked ; keep free of dust, l int, hair and
anything that may reduce air flow.
S Use only a voltage supply as shown on
the nameplat e of the unit.
S Avoid dangerous environments. Do not
use in unven tila ted areas or whe re dust
or explosive vapors can build up.
S To redu ce the ri sk of elect rical shock,
use extension cords specif i cally mar ke d
as suitable for out door appli ances. The
electr i cal rati ng of the cord must not be
less than the rati ng of the unit. The cord
must be marked with the suf f i x “W”.
Make sure your extension cord is in
good condition. Inspect extension cord
befo re use and repl ac e if damaged. An
