User Manual
The Pulse™ 2000 has the ability to cook with two different temperature zones at the same
time. The dual control knobs allow you to individually control each side of your cooking
grill. This is fantastic if you would like to sear steaks over direct high heat on one side while
cooking chicken breasts over a lower heat (direct medium heat) to ensure they cook the
whole way through.
Preheating for grilling:
Whenever you use your Pulse for two zone
grilling, it is important that you preheat
the barbecue first, with the lid closed. This
ensures that the porcelain enamelled cast
iron cooking grills are clean and searing
hot when you start cooking. To preheat your
Pulse for grilling:
1. Connect the front control panel if it isn’t
already, then connect your Pulse to a
power point.
2. Press the on/off button.
3. Turn your control knobs to HIGH.
4. Preheat your barbecue with the lid closed
and your control knobs on HIGH for 15
to 20 minutes, or until the barbecue
reaches 270C.
Grilling:
1. After preheating for 15-20 minutes, your
barbecue is ready to cook. Open the lid
and brush the cooking grills clean with a
Weber grill brush.
2. Adjust the control knobs as required.
a. Turn the left control knob to the
setting suggested in the first recipe.
b. Turn the right control knob to the
setting suggested in the second recipe
3. Place your food directly on the grill.
4. Close the lid and cook your food for half
of the estimated cooking time.
5. Open the lid and turn the food over.
6. Close the lid and cook the food for the
remaining cooking time.
How to two zone grill (direct cooking)

Note: This method can also be used if you
intend to initially sear food, then finish
cooking it through at a lower temperature.
For example, you can sear thicker steaks
over direct high heat, then finish them off
by moving them to the direct medium heat
zone.
Tip: The LED temperature display on the
front of your barbecue will display the
average temperature between your two
cooking zones. Therefore, it is important
to resist adjusting the control knobs during
cooking to ‘chase’ a particular temperature.
