What is the difference between Flat Top and traditional grilling?
The Flat Top allows you to create a variety of foods that couldn’t be made on cooking grates. Its versatility can be used to cook meals from breakfast to
dinner, like, eggs, pancakes, hash browns, grilled cheese, paninis, salmon or fajitas.
Why is the Flat Top made from carbon steel?
Carbon steel heats quickly and evenly. It also becomes stick-resistant naturally over time great for foods like crispy polenta, latkes or smashed cheese
burgers.
How long do I preheat my Flat Top?
You will want to preheat the grill for approximately 20-25 minutes with the Flat Top in place.
It is recommended that I brush food with oil before cooking, what if I can’t (eggs, pancakes, etc.)?
Occasionally there will be food you are unable to cover with oil before cooking on the Flat Top. In these instances, use a basting brush to lightly apply
cooking oil or melted butter to the Flat Top.
Why does my Flat Top make a popping sound when I add food?
What you heard is called thermal shock. Its what happens when a very cold food meets a very hot surface. It does not affect the performance of the
Flat Top.
