Why is there oil on my Flat Top when it comes out of the package?

Your WEBER CRAFTED Flat Top has been coated with a food-safe oil for protection. This ensures that it stays in great condition until you're ready to start

the seasoning process.

What kind of oil is my Flat Top packaged in?

The Flat Top is packaged in a food safe mineral oil. It does not evaporate like other oils, which makes it ideal for protecting the Flat Top prior to use.

Can I season my Flat Top with the oil it was packaged in?

No. While the oil that is on the product is good for protecting from corrosion, it is not recommended for seasoning. Instead of creating a layer of

seasoning, the mineral oil would just burn into the surface of the Flat Top.

Why do I season my Flat Top?

This fills the pores in the Flat Top’s surface with polymerized oil that creates a stick-resistant, protective coating. Handling food will be easier and so will

cleaning up.

Seasoning creates a stick-resistant, protective coating so you can make delicious eggs, pancakes, burgers, and fajitas for years to come. Just follow the steps below: 1. Your WEBER CRAFTED Flat Top has been coated with a food-safe oil to keep it in great condition during transportation.

Flat Top - Fitment Why isn’t my Flat Top fitting properly? Make sure you are installing your Flat Top on the right-hand side of your grill. With the burners off and the grill cool to the touch, remove the grate on the right. (recommended info graphic) Place your WEBER CRAFTED frame in the right-hand side of the grill. It should be positioned with the curved portions of the wire facing down. The WEBER logo should be toward the front of the grill and facing up.

Make sure that the spacer’s two large tabs are positioned toward the inside of the grill, closest to the grillware. Flat Top – Use & Care How do I clean my Flat Top? With the burners off and the Flat Top still warm, pour a little bit of water on the surface. Then use a spatula to scrape away any food residue. Why does my Flat Top have rust? Even on a well-seasoned Flat Top, rust can appear. Here is how you can remove it and prevent it in the future: 1. Use a steel scouring pad and water to scrub off the rust 2. Rinse it with warm water 3. Continue rinsing until the water runs clear 4.
