Themetadatacouldbeconsideredasimportantasthedatacollectedfromyour
weatherstation.EarthNetworkscollectsmetadatafromallofourweather
monitoringstations.Thiswillhelpensurethatyourweatherstationcancontinueto
offerthehighestqualityweatherinformationtoyourcommunity.Yourmetadatawill
be
usedtoensurethatyoursite'sweatherreadingsareasaccurateaspossible,as
wellastoverifyitscalibrationandtodetectanyproblems.

fromhttp://download.earthnetworks.com/andfollowtheinstructionstocomplete
theform.Youwillneedtotakeandemail12photosofyourweatherstation
installationfollowingthedirectionswithsamplephotosinthesitedatacollection
form.
Calibration
IfyourEarthNetworksWeatherStationisproperlyinstalled,onlythetimeand
barometricpressurewillneedtobecalibrateduponinitialconnection.The
barometricpressuresensormustbeadjustedtocompensateforaltitudedifferences
betweentheEarthNetworksWeatherStationproductionlocationandyour
installationsite.Theweatherstationtimeistypicallypre‐settoUSEasternStandard
Time(EST).Allothercalibrationsareperformedpriortoshipment.
TheEarthNetworksWeatherStationisdesignedforremotecalibrationbyEarth
Networks–WeatherBugTechnicalSupportviatheInternet.Youmustproperly
configureyourweatherstationforremoteaccesstoenableremotecalibration.
Partoftheequationforbarometricpressureisbasedonelevation.EarthNetworks
hasalreadyenteredyourgeneralelevation.Ifpossible,pleaseprovideyourexact
Latitude/LongitudeandElevationifyouhavethisinformationavailableviaaGPS
system.Ifnot,pleaseconfirmtheaddressfortheinstallationlocation
sothatan
exactLatitude/LongitudeandElevationcanbeenteredtoensureyoursiteplots
properlyintheEarthNetworksandWeatherBugproducts.
