EPA booklets for consumers explain radon and
radon mitigation. RadonAway™ fan and AIRaider™

of installations.
Ready-to-use display banners and posters for
home shows, health fairs and other promotional
events. Our exhibit-quality banner displays come
with a stand and 26” by 71” rollup banner. The
24’’ by 36’’ posters can be mounted for display.

Applicabilty:
Active soil depressurization (ASD) is recognized
by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency,
consumer groups, and scientific organizations as
the most effective technique for reducing radon
levels in homes and other buildings.
Principle of Operation:
A negative pressure field is created below the
building to prevent the entry of radon gas.
Method:
One or more penetrations are made in the
concrete floor (slab) and a small pit is created
beneath each pen
etration. If there is no slab, a
radon retardant
vapor barrier is affixed over rock
and dirt prior to creating the penetration(s). PVC
vent pipe is connected to the penetration(s) and
is typically routed unobtrusively to the suction
side of the RadonAway radon mitigation fan.
Additional PVC vent pipe is then connected to
the pressure side of the fan and routed up the
sidewall of the house to discharge the radon gas
safely above the roof. A weatherproof electrical
connection i
s provided for the fan.

decay product of uranium, a common element in soil and rocks.
Radon gas is considered harmless when dispersed in outdoor air
but can be a serious health hazard when trapped in buildings.
