Note: When using a factory receiver’s internal power IC to drive speakers directly and provide signal to the linkQ,
note that these speaker level outputs will likely clip below the maximum volume setting. Adjust gain accordingly for
optimum unclipped volume range and system output.
Example-1: Speaker Level Input from OEM Radio
+12V
GND
REM OUT
SPK IN
RCA OUT
RLC
Note: In factory amplified systems where output from the radio is a fixed level or digital, input signal for the linkQ
should be connected at the OEM amplifier’s outputs. If the tapped signal measures more than 20Vrms at maximum
volume or if the linkQ’s output is too high for the aftermarket amplifier(s) with all gains at minimum, internal jumpers
(labeled 20V/40V) are available to reduce the input sensitivity range by half (-6dB) allowing input signals up to 40Vrms.
Example-2: Speaker Level Input from OEM Amplifier
SPK IN
+12V
GND
REM OUT
RCA OUT
RLC
Note: Portable devices such as smartphones or MP3 players typically have an output voltage of 1Vrms or less. While
the linkQ’s auto turn-on circuit will detect very low signal levels, for best sound perfomance it is recommended to set
the device’s volume to its maximum unclipped output level and use the remote as the system’s master volume control.
Example-3: RCA Input from Portable Audio Player
RCA OUT
+12V
GND
REM OUT
RLC
RCA IN
