Notes:
Ÿ For factory amplified systems with more extreme volume dependent DSP effects such as EQ or limiters, select system
Type-4 at the multi-function remote. This enables all remote functions and sets knob priority to master volume control
for both Main and AUX inputs. Independent CH7/8 level mode is also selectable for each source. Once the system is
tuned and optimized for a specific fixed volume setting, the source unit’s volume should not be used (make note of
the setting) and instead use the multi-function remote as the system’s sole master volume control.
Ÿ In this example, most of the factory amplifier’s signal outputs are useable without summing, except that the front
woofer LP and mid/tweet HP crossover points are too low for either a full-range or bi-amped aftermarket component
set. By summing CH1+3/CH2+4 together, CH3/4’s combined output can now be actively crossed over where needed or
used with a passive 2-way network without further summing since the factory woofer HP is low enough.
Ÿ For more detail on summing a 4-way factory system, see the signal flow diagram on pg3 and Example-5 below.
Note: The link8 can sum up to 4-way factory systems to full-range while also retaining independent remote level control
over CH1/2 and CH7/8 outputs. If using the remote, choose the appropriate system type (see pg4) and set CH1/2’s
output select switch to 7/8 for a separate full-range output for main speakers and use CH7/8’s output for subwoofer(s).
