Use the Error-checking status tool first.
 Select Check Now…
 Select Standard for Type of test.
 Select the Automatically fix errors check box
 Select Start to perform the Scandisk
 Close the Scandisk results window when complete
 Close the Scandisk tool when complete to return to the Tools window
