How to Install SPEEDSignal on a Pocket PC PDA
System Requirements
Hardware
• Personal Digital Assistant (PDA): iPAQ H3600 or H3100 Series (Pocket PC
Models H3630, H3640, H3650, H3130, or H3150)
• A cradle connected to a desktop PC using a serial/USB port.
The USB is recommended for better performance.
• Recommended: 802.11b Wireless LAN PC Card using the Prism chipset
Examples are:

• Linksys WPC11
Software
• SPEEDSignal application
• Microsoft

ActiveSync
• You need a driver that will operate in psuedo adhoc mode (e.g., Compaq
WL100 Wireless LAN PC Card Drivers for Microsoft Pocket PC PDA is a type of
psuedo adhoc driver used in these directions). Make sure your driver and
Wireless LAN PC Card match.
• Platform: Pocket PC Version 2002

Installation Notes
• The purpose of ActiveSync is to copy files from the desktop PC to the
Pocket PC PDA. (It is not necessary to establish a partnership between
ActiveSync and your desktop PC. When prompted to select a
partnership, click the No button.)
• SPEEDSignal uses broadcast technology, so it is not necessary to set up an IP
address on the Pocket PC.
• Ensure that the TCP/IP protocol is enabled on the desktop PC before installing
ActiveSync.
• Remove your Compaq WL100 Wireless LAN (WLAN) PC Card from the
Pocket PC PDA prior to installation.
