Operation
When poweredup, your interface displaywill beep and the LCD display
willlightup.WhenyourWatchDog™750VMSisrunning,the2inchUser
Interfacewillshowoneofthefollowingmessages:
1) ‘Wait’withRedLED’soff.Thisisabootupmessageonthe2inch
UserInterfacethatindicatesthattheunitistryingtocommunicate
withtheWatchDog™.
2) ‘Comm’withRedLED’soff.ThisindicatesthattheWatchDog™is
running,hasaGPSfixandhasatleastonecommunicationchannel
open(GSMand/orIridium).
3) ‘No Comm’with Red LED’s on continuously: This indicates that
the WatchDog™ is running, but either cannot get a GPS fix,
cannot communicate(viaGSMor Iridium),or bothGPSand the
communicationlinksaredown.
AssistanceButton
The WatchDog™ system is equipped with an Assistance Notification
function.Anypersononthevesselcanrequestassistancebyusing
the2inchUserInterface.Oncerequested,anassistancealertwillbe
senttothose peoplelistedon thenotificationpagebyemailandphone
(seeSettingupyourNotificationandAlertLists,page17).
Pressingandholdingthe“H”buttonfor5secondswillputtheWatchDog™
intotheASSISTANCEMODE.Inthismode,someoneonthevesselhas
requestedassistance.Thescreenwilldisplay“HELPSEND”indicatingthat
theWatchDog™systemhasrequestedassistance.
