Configuring the Display
S e ttin g o pti on s fo r th e di s p lay
The following are the s uggeste d work configurations when connect ing a dis play
screen to the Base Adapter:
· Mirror Mod e
· Extend Mode
· Laptop with Lid Closed
· External Display Only
Note:
On Windows XP/Vista, the display prope rties for the Base A dapter
can be config ured in two ways: as describe d in Configuring t he
Display > In Windows XP/Vista > vi a the Display Ic on Context Menu,
or as described in Con fi gur ing t he Display > in Windows XP/Vista >
via Windows Di splay Properties On Windows 7, refer to Configuring
the Display > In Windows 7 Configuring Display in Windows 7.
When changing sett ing s, or duri ng fi r st connection bet ween t he PC
Adapter and the StreamHD adapter, the PC disp lay may flick er or
turn on and off as the screen r esolution is bei ng automatically
adjusted.
This section describes the di fferent modes that can be set. In Configuring the
Display > In Windows XP/Vista and Configuring t he Display > In Windows 7 you
will find the proc edur es for c onfiguring these modes.
Using Mirror mode
Mirror mode is used to display the identical cont ent on the additional screen as i s
shown on the main PC/La ptop scre en. Mirror mode is generally used t o displa y
the PC cont ents on a larger or high er definition display. In Mirror mode the default
resolution is chosen based on the common denominator between the PC and the
addit ional screen, therefore, f or mos t PCs, 108 0p wil l not be supported.
