Getting Started
Before installing, draw an installation plan showing the
placement of heating mats, floor sensor, and junction box
or boxes.
It is important to mark the location of the cold lead joint on
the plans. The cold lead is the non-heating portion of the
cable that will run in the wall to connect the system to the
thermostat.
Marking the heating mat layout on a floor plan makes it
easier to trace back the heating cable for troubleshooting
purposes. Keep such layout filed after installation.
The heating mat shall not extend beyond the room or area
in which it originates.
Before installing the heating mats, refer to the sizing guide
on page 6 of this booklet to ensure you have the correct
number and size of heaters for the area you wish to heat.
It is important to test the mat(s) before installation. Follow
the test procedure detailed on page 13 and confirm that
the values match the listed specifications. Record the read-
ings on the control card provided in this manual.
