4.3.6 e-TROPOS Browser Products (BROWSER)
4.3.6.1 e-TROPOS Query Builder (SR4172)
An e-TROPOS query is a customer-specific database query that can be incorporated easily into the
existing e-TROPOS Browser Interface. It is designed to provide focused information to the user that
is specific to his job function and implementation, and is used instead of standard enquiries. It can
be accessed from standard TROPOS transaction screens, or from other e-TROPOS queries. Thus, e-
TROPOS queries provide enhanced navigation through TROPOS.
The e-TROPOS query builder is a wizard used to generate such queries. It prompts the user for the
information necessary to build such an e-TROPOS query, and uses the entered data and a template
file to generate an ASP file that encapsulates the query.
The e-TROPOS query builder may also be used to create views in the TROPOS database.
4.3.6.2 e-TROPOS Browser enhancements (SR4292)
The e-TROPOS Browser interface has been significantly enhanced to improve functionality and
performance.
The additional functionality added includes:
• Drill down and help enabled from scrolling grids
• User-defined graphical displays of grid information
• Rule-based field defaulting
• Inclusion of user-defined look-aside lists (designed with the Query Builder)
Performance improvements include:
• Reduced screen load time
• Preloading screen option
4.3.6.3 e-TROPOS Application Designer (SR4293)
The e-TROPOS Application Designer provides a user-friendly application development
environment for developing web-enabled software which supports the access and update of the
TROPOS system via the browser based applications across an Intranet or the Internet.
It includes support for:
• Designing Web pages including user interfaces
• TROPOS Log On
• Combination of TROPOS transactions into a single form
• Combination of multiple forms into a single user application
