To allow these values to be entered, it is now necessary to respond to a Data-Valid prompt prior to
executing the transaction.
The key data names will be displayed alongside an input field. Values may then be entered in the
corresponding input field to restrict the data shown. The selection criteria can be wild-carded, for
instance 'SOAD' will display all entries containing ‘SOAD’ in that key field; entering ‘SO%’ will
display all entries containing ‘SO’ in the first two characters, and entering ‘%OA%’ will display all
entries containing ‘OA’.
4.3.5.12 Staggering the start-up of Application Servers on Windows (SR4437)
On Windows platforms the simultaneous start-up of multiple Application Servers (Manager, Online
and Background Servers) can sometimes cause a problem. This problem shows itself as a failure to
initialise by one or more of these servers, each one that fails causing an error message to be
displayed on the system console. This can be a particular nuisance if it happens during out-of-hours
working, e.g. as part of a batch run, because manual intervention is required to acknowledge these
error messages before the TROPOS instance can attempt to restart the failed servers.
A new environment variable, SSISYS_AS_START_DELAY, has been introduced to provide a way
to define a delay between the start-up of each Application Server. This environment variable should
be set to the value, in milliseconds, by which the TROPOS instance should delay the start of each
Application Server. If the environment variable is not defined a value of 1000 (i.e. 1 second) is
assumed.
4.3.5.13 TROPOS Users (SR4178)
The OPES and OPFM transactions have been enhanced to include a display of the current user
information.
A user differs from a client session in that a specific user may be running several client sessions e.g.
Running from a PC client and one or more SDK applications.
Each user is defined as using one device (IP address), and the number of client sessions against this
address is shown.
Each session used by a character cell client, Shop Floor Device or e-TROPOS web browser is
defined as a separate user and only a total of these sessions is shown.
4.3.5.14 Revised Package flags (SR4193_01)
The package flags have been revised, removing those that no longer serve any purpose. These have
been replaced with new flags that are used to control access to the modules purchased.
The relevant values will be set for each customer by the mandatory run.
Full details on the new flags are contained in the manual ‘Setting and Maintaining Package Flags'.
4.3.5.15 Formatting Transactions (SR4194)
A number of changes have been made to the transactions used for formatting error messages,
scrolling regions and COBOL reports.
The language code has been added to all transaction screens in this group.
